The Red Sea Riviera: Hurghada
Hurghada, like all of the Red Sea resorts, provides the perfect blend of ingredients for an Egyptian beach holiday and is a magnet for diving enthusiasts. The coral reefs teem with colourful fish and all sorts of exotic sea creatures.
Hurghada was once a lazy fishing village but is now one of the largest and most cosmopolitan of the Egyptian Red Sea resorts. Remnants of the fishing village remain around the old town, whilst the new Hurghada continues to expand along the coastline. New hotels, shops and restaurants spring up all the time. Downtown Hurghada bursts with local colour and activity and is unmistakably Egyptian.
