Poitiers is a city in west central France, occupying a strategic position on the Clain River, surrounded on three sides by streams. Romanesque churches are the main attraction, along with a pretty town centre with some interesting architecture.
Futuroscope in nearby Chasseneuil-du-Poitou is perhaps the region's main attraction. Parc du Futuroscope is a theme park dedicated to multimedia and audio-visual techniques. It boasts 3D and 4D cinemas, and a range of other attractions and shows.
