Towering above the country's capital, the Citadel is an unmissable landmark in Amman, and the Archaeological Museum is definitely worth a visit.  To the north of Amman, the ancient city of Jerash is one of the largest and best preserved Roman sites outside Italy.  Nearby is Mount Nebo - one of the most revered holy sites in the country, it's said to be the final resting place of Moses.

From modern shops and department stores to traditional markets and bazaars, Jordan offers every shopping experience you can imagine.  The souks of downtown Amman are particularly popular with tourists.

For a contrast to this colourful city, explore the vast, tranquil desert scenery of Wadi Rum by 4x4 jeep.  Finally a trip to Jordan would not be complete without relaxing by the Dead Sea - at 400 metres below sea level, it's the lowest point on earth.
