In addition to the main Committee, two sub-groups provide a wider forum for informed debate in two key areas and to act in an advisory capacity to the main Committee. The Environment Monitoring Working Group deals with environmental and operational issues and the Passenger Services and Surface Transport Working Group considers passenger-related and surface transport issues. All of these groups meet quarterly and there is a full flow of information between them.

Typical agenda items at the main Committee might be recent passenger figures, updates on current and proposed development projects, air services development, complaints and community relations activity. There is also a full environmental report on aircraft noise and track keeping and air and surface water quality, waste and energy consumption.

The Airport Consultative Committee also monitors the Airport Company’s compliance with the conditions contained within the Section 106 Planning Agreement with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council in1996. These relate to issues such as land use planning, night flying and surface transport.

The Airport Consultative Committee has its own web site, which you can visit at http://www.ukaccs.info/bham
