• Community Trust Fund

The Birmingham Airport Community Trust Fund was established in 1998 as part of a Section 106 Planning Agreement with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Each year, we invest £50,000 and the Fund is the ‘topped up’ by any penalties imposed on airlines who breach our strict Night Flying Policy.

However, we do not decide where the money is spent. This is the job of the nine independent Trustees, nominated by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Birmingham City Council, The Airport Consultative Committee and the Airport Company board. The Trustees use their local knowledge to ensure grants are awarded where they will have the greatest impact. Awards of up to £3,000 are available for projects that meet the Fund criteria.

  • Schools Environment Improvement Scheme

    Schools Environment Improvement Scheme Award

Each year we make £50,000 available to insulate schools close to aircraft flight paths against noise, through the replacement of windows, temporary classrooms and the insulation of sensitive areas such as IT suites or school halls. The Scheme is administered by Birmingham City Council, whose officers identify which schools are suitable recipients of the funding according to need.Total investment under the Scheme now stands at £900,000.

  • Small Awards and Sponsorship

We receive many requests from both individuals and organisations for sponsorship or other forms of small-scale funding, such as the provision of raffle prizes. While we are happy to respond positively whenever we can, it is not always possible to support everyone and each case is carefully considered on an individual basis. Our priority is our local community and it is unlikely we can support requests from further afield.

Please also note that we are not an airline and therefore cannot supply flight tickets as raffle prizes.
