    Noise management is given top priority at Birmingham Airport. Aircraft noise, both air and ground has long been recognised by the Airport Company as a sensitive issue for the local community.

  • Noise Action Plan

    The Birmingham Airport Noise Action Plan  is a 5 year strategy setting out a series of actions and targets to assess, manage and where possible improve the noise climate around the Airport.  Please access this link for more information and to view a copy of the Action Plan.

  • Community Schemes

    Birmingham Airport continues the implementation of the Sound Insulation Scheme and the Vortex Protection Scheme. Together these schemes represent significant investment in the local community.

  • Environmental Reporting

    Environmental monitoring is a fundmental part of the Environment Team's remit of work at Birmingham Airport.  Environmental monitoring data is routinely reported  to and reviewed by the Airport Consulative Committee, the Environment Monitoring Working Group and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.

  • Energy & Climate Change

    Managing our energy consumption is not just about saving money, but about being as energy efficient as possible and managing the contribution of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) and the part they play in Climate Change.

    We are proud of the contribution that Birmingham Airport makes to the region.  It stimulates investment and employment in the region and provides an invaluable gateway for business and tourism. We are also conscious of the impacts that our operations have on the local community and environment.  For these reasons, the word ‘sustainability’ is central to the way that Birmingham Airport operates and develops.

  • Environment on Google Earth

    We are always seeking new ways to communicate our programmes and information resources and in 2010, we made available our data on Google Earth.  By using Google Earth, we are allowing key environmental information to be viewed in ways that were not previously possible and in ways that will give you a better insight into our environmental programmes.
