• Sound Insulation

    Birmingham Airport has operated a Sound Insulation Scheme since 1978. 2008 marked the 30th anniversary of the Scheme.

    The scheme provides sound-proof glazing to properties in areas most affected by aircraft noise. The scheme has been open to over 7,600 properties in areas around the airport and over 90% of these properties have already benefited from the scheme.

  • Vortex Protection Scheme

    The Vortex Protection Scheme was launched in 2003, to provide roof protection for properties affected by roof damage from aircraft vortices. Since the scheme’s launch in 2003, the roofs of more 276 properties have been protected.
