Papal Visit – No Public Viewing Area at Birmingham Airport

To avoid disappointment, we strongly advise people wishing to see The Pope not to come to Birmingham Airport on 19th September as the departure event will take place in a restricted zone, away from all public areas.

The events of the day, including the airport departure, will be televised on BBC2.

    Birmingham Airport is committed to its impact on the local environment and encourages all staff to consider using public transport to and from the Airport, in order to reduce the amount of traffic the Airport generates on the local road network. The Airport is served by frequent bus and trains, and if you live close to the Airport, cycling to work may be worth considering. Even if you can only occasionally cycle, or use the bus or train, this will help reduce the 10 million road trips to and from the Airport each year.

    The Airport Jobcentre Plus, located next to Terminal 1, offers a wide range of vacancies throughout the year for around 150 airport employers.
    Vacancies include: Security, Passenger Check-in, Retail, Cleaning, Baggage Handling, Catering, Aircraft Cleaning, Cabin Crew and many others. These may be full time, part time or seasonal work dependant on requirements.
