STATION ADMINISTRATOR – FULL TIME - £24,024 pa

At Skytanking Aviation Services ENG Limited we run an excellent service for our airline customers and have an exciting new opportunity opening at Birmingham Airport. It will be a busy operation, but we go further to ensure we maintain a high standard of safety and service as we put our customers at the centre of our operations.

Timescales can often result in a tight turnaround therefore you will need to be a good timekeeper, flexible when overtime is required if a flight schedule changes last minute and reliable as you are working as part of a dedicated team, so we need to be confident that you are committed.

Job Purpose:
Provide effective administration support to the Station Manager and the team of Operational Managers to ensure the efficient operation of the business in delivering the highest standard of service.


Main responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Provide confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Station Manager and the team of Operational Managers. 
  • Daily enquiries including detail changes, staff travel, absences, recruitment and ID, carparking etc, and escalating any enquiries to relevant teams. 
  • Designated authorising officer for security 1D pass applications.
  • Coordinate the referencing process by liaising with third party companies.
  • Collate all necessary paperwork required for 1D pass applications.
  • Communicate with staff and appropriate 1D unit.
  • Collate and action all internal and external mail on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate ordering and issuing of car park passes for staff. 
  • Liaise with departmental managers and highlight frequent discrepancies. 
  • Manage office equipment, arranging for repair/maintenance as necessary. 
  • Manage and coordinate stationary, water and vending machine supplies. 
  • Manage hotel and meeting room reservations. 
  • Regular and ad hoc reporting. 
  • Notetaking
  • Ensure safety is never compromised whilst fully complying with The Health and Safety at Work Act 1984 and revisions. 
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times. 
  • Any other reasonable duty as requested.

  • Able to work to own initiative and without supervision
  • Good team player
  • Excellent organisational planning and administration skills and a good eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at different levels
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint 

 

    Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Experience of working in a busy, sometimes high-pressured environment
  • Experience of dealing with work of a confidential and sensitive nature    

 

   Essential requirements:

 

  • All applicants must be able to pass a Criminal Records Check/DBS
  • Hold an ‘in date’ passport or full or provisional driving licence plus a full birth certificate.
  • Have been a UK resident for the last 5 years
  • Without exception, provide a 5-year history (with no gaps) including work and none work activities.
