Staff Travel
Birmingham Airport is committed to encouraging employees to travel to work in a sustainable way and by supporting employees in getting to work by public transport. As part of the Airport’s runway extension project, the Airport Company is committed to reducing the number of employees who travel to work by private car, with a target of 43% of staff to travel by non single occupancy private car by 2023. We have therefore introduced a number of initiatives to encourage all employees who work at the airport to use more sustainable modes of transport
Employee Car Sharing Scheme
Birmingham Airport offers a car sharing scheme to all staff who work on-site at the airport. The scheme is free to join and helps match you with people who live in your area, driving the same route to work. Great benefits to the scheme include petrol money savings, meeting new people and a 'guarantee to get you home' pledge by the company to ensure if there is a family emergency or illness where your driver has to leave early without you, the company will pay to get you home.
