Face Coverings Guidance

The safety of our customers and colleagues is our number one priority. It is mandatory for all passengers to wear a face covering within certain areas of the airport. Children/people with disabilities including hidden disabilities may be exempt. Please see here for more details.

We have kept mandatory face coverings in areas where close interaction between our staff and customers occurs. Therefore, it is mandatory to wear face coverings when going through security, onboard your aircraft, on all airport buses, during the arrivals process – including immigration, baggage reclaim and on our car park buses.

Face coverings advice

Face coverings are used to cover the mouth and nose whilst allowing you to breathe comfortably. It can be as simple as a scarf or bandana that ties behind the head, acceptable alternatives are face masks.

Face coverings should fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face and be secured with ties or ear loops. They should include multiple layers of fabric and allow for breathing without restriction.

In relation to security requirements, face coverings should be removable at the request of the officer, for the purpose of visual security checks. Face coverings should be made using non-metallic materials.

Face coverings should never be left unattended, placed in search trays, or disposed of incorrectly. We encourage passengers to bring spare face coverings for longer journeys and plastic bags to store used face coverings.
