Government Travel Guidance
From 8 June, there will be new rules in place for entering the UK because of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The rules are for residents and visitors.
When these rules are in place, you will:
· need to provide your journey and contact details when you travel to the UK
· not be allowed to leave the place you’re staying for the first 14 days you’re in the UK except in very limited situations (known as ‘self-isolating’)
Full details can be found at https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control
The Foreign Office advises against all but essential travel worldwide and urging British Nationals to return to the UK now. Citizens who decide that travel abroad is essential should be fully aware of the increased risks of travel. That includes the risk that they may not be able to get home, if travel restrictions are put in place.
Those who are permanent resident overseas are not being advised to return to the UK, but to follow the advice of the local authorities in their host country. The advice can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-advice-novel-coronavirus
Please contact your travel company or airline if you have specific queries; however please be aware they are experiencing high volumes of enquiries.
