Noise Monitoring and Community Noise Reports

Noise Monitoring

As part of our commitment to mitigating the impact of noise, we routinely monitor noise levels at the airport and in the nearby area via six fixed noise monitors. These are highly accurate, calibrated pieces of equipment which link to our noise and track-keeping system to provide detailed information on noise in neighbouring communities.

Live readings of all of our fixed monitors are available on our Webtrak system here.

In addition to our fixed noise monitors, from time to time we carry out studies of aircraft noise using Portable Noise Monitors. Our Portable Noise Monitor Deployment Policy explains how how you can request for a portable noise monitor to be deployed in your area and how any data collected will be analysed and reported.

You can also read the reports which accompany our most recent studies using portable noise monitors

Community Noise Reports

In order to ensure the wider availability of noise data, we publish a quarterly Community Noise Report.

WebTrak

WebTrak is a web-based flight tracking platform that enables users to review aircraft operations at Birmingham Airport. The platform allows you to investigate flight paths in relation to your property, with options to view aircraft altitude, Noise Preferential Routes (NPRs), and other operational information for individual flights. You can also plot your address to see flight movements in relation to your property.

The platform can be accessed here.
