Will the Airport make a donation to my charity/fundraising project? How do I apply for a grant from the Airport’s Community Trust Fund?Community and Environment
Members of the Airport team are available to give talks and presentations to community groups. These may either be an overview of the Airport and its operations, suitable for a general audience, or may focus on specific issues, according to need.
Where demand is heavy, preference will be given to groups in those communities most affected by our operations. We do not normally charge, but many groups choose to make a donation to our nominated charity.
If you would like to book a talk or presentation please submit your request here.
We have a viewing area within Car Park 5, Sheldon Country Park which is close by also has great views.
In addition to the outdoor viewing area located in Car Park 5, you may be interested to learn that there is a 'free to use' location in Sheldon Country Park, on publicly accessible land at the north end of the runway which affords excellent views of arriving and departing aircraft. You can read more at www.birmingham.gov.uk/sheldonpark.
If you wish to plan or organise a balloon or sky lantern release you need to contact the Civil Aviation Authority directly. You can do so by visiting www.caa.co.uk/Consumers/Displays-and-events/Displays-and-events/ and reading information about 'fireworks, lasers and sky lantern releases'.

Flight School can accommodate a maximum of 30 children on any one visit. If you wish to bring more than 30 children, you'll need to make an additional booking for another time. This is because we have to balance the impact of groups of children in the terminal with the needs of other passengers and other airport users in what is a busy working environment.
For more information on educational visits and how to book please see our Educational visits page.
Flight School is open Monday to Friday, throughout the year, between 09:00 and 16:30.

Our Nominated Charity - Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity
We’re delighted to announce Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity as our official nominated charity partner for 2025-2028.
