BHX Parking Logo NCP Partnership logo

Just 400 metres from the terminal, this drop off car park is approximately a 5-10 minutes walk to the main check-in desks, via a dedicated footpath. For those with lots of luggage, travelling with children, or who may have mobility issues, there is also a regular, wheelchair-friendly, and free bus service between the car park and the terminal, which picks-up from Car Park 5 – just across the road.

If you are collecting passengers, we always advise using Car Park 1.

Leave the M42 at junction 6 and proceed along the A45 following the signs to the airport. At the roundabout with the birds sculpture, continue straight ahead following the signs for the Drop Off car park. You can gain access via a dedicated entrance on Airport Way, the main approach road to the terminal, which is clearly signposted.

Using the Drop Off

Stays of up to 10 minutes in this car park are free, making it ideal for dropping off passengers flying from Birmingham Airport. Stays of over 10 minutes are charged at the standard tariff rate, which you’ll see displayed at the car park entrance.

Customers returning before the hour is up won’t benefit from the 10 minutes free parking.

This car park is operated using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, where upon arrival, cameras at the entrance of the car park will read your registration number, and you may park your car in any available bay. Please note you will require your registration number to pay for your stay.

While the Drop Off Car Park has bays set aside for disabled drivers, it’s recommended that Blue Badge holders park at the Premium Set Down Car Park, where you can take advantage of having the first 30 minutes for free.

If you’re a Blue Badge holder and do not wish to leave your blue badge in your car while you’re away, go to the on-site cabin where you’ll be asked to fill in a form. You will then be issued with a permit (effectively a temporary blue badge) which you can then display in the front of your car during your stay. Once you’ve got your permit, you’ll be directed to your space.
