Drop off & Pick up

If you’re dropping off or picking up passengers, Birmingham Airport has several options to meet your needs and guarantee a hassle free visit.

Dropping off

Premium Set Down: 1 minute walk to the terminal

Premium Set Down offers convenient parking for those dropping off passengers at Birmingham Airport and costs £6 for the first 15 minutes.

Located right outside the terminal building, Premium Set Down is just a short walk to the check in desks, perfect if your passengers have lots of luggage or young children.

Drop Off: 5 to 10 minute walk to the terminal

Birmingham Airport’s Drop Off is not only convenient for access to the main terminal, but it’s also free for up to 10 minutes, saving you time and money. The main terminal can be reached on foot via a covered walkway, within 5 to 10 minutes.

Passengers can also make use of the regular free bus service that operates between our car parks and the terminal.

Please note that Drop Off has a no return within one hour policy in place.

Picking up

Car Parks 1, 2 & 3: approximately a 1-2 minutes’ walk to the terminal.

If you’re meeting passengers then our Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 are the most convenient. These multi storey car parks are adjacent to the terminal and only a short walk from the Arrivals gate, making them easy to access for passengers and drivers. They’re affordable too, with tariffs starting from £9.50 for up to an hour.

Red Routes

To maintain visitor safety, red routes are in operation around the airport site. If you see areas designated as Red Routes then please be aware that you are not allowed to stop, unload or park, even if you are just dropping off passengers (please use the Drop Off car park instead).

Red Routes are clearly marked around the airport roads via signage and double red line road markings. Birmingham Airport operates a vehicle monitoring and enforcement operation. Any vehicle flouting the Red Route restrictions will face an enforcement charge of £100 (reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days).

T&Cs

Terms and conditions

Birmingham Airport Limited and APCOA Parking UK Ltd are responsible for the enforcement of parking restrictions throughout the site. These are absolutely essential to maintain the free flow of traffic and to minimise congestion on key routes and in all areas in and around the terminal, as well as the approach roads. It is also important that we enforce these restrictions for the safety of both Birmingham Airport staff and members of the public.

Restrictions regarding use of the roadway are clearly indicated on signs displayed throughout the Birmingham Airport site, both on free-standing signs and road markings (such as red lines). It is the responsibility of drivers to ensure that their vehicle is not in breach of any restrictions or indications.

APCOA Parking UK Ltd may issue Parking Charge Notices for breaches of the restrictions. These include (but are not limited to:)

  • Failing to park in a designated parking area

  • Dropping off/picking up outside of a designated parking area

  • Stopping on double red lines

The charge payable for a Parking Charge Notice is £100 if paid within 28 days. This amount can be reduced to £50 if the Notice is paid within 14 days from date of issue. Further fees may be incurred if the Parking Charge Notice remains unpaid.

All appeals and enquiries relating to parking enforcement on the private roads should be addressed to:

APCOA Parking, PO Box 222, Lowton Way, Hellaby, Sheffield, S98 1NX

Telephone: 0345 303 7397

In the event of a breach of the restrictions, the vehicle keeper details will be requested from the DVLA, in accordance with all Data Protection Act guidelines.
