Premium Set Down is located right outside the terminal and is perfect if you want to drop passengers at the terminal doors.

This drop off area is open 24 hours a day and offers convenient parking for those dropping off passengers at Birmingham Airport. This premium car park provides passengers with all the convenience of instant access to the terminal, which is especially useful if you’re travelling with young children or large amounts of luggage.

This car park also has Electric Vehicle charging points, provided by GRIDSERVE Electric Highway, more details below.

Leave the M42 at Junction 6 and proceed along the A45, following the signs to the airport. On arrival, follow the signs for the Premium Set Down car park.

Using Premium Set Down

Premium Set Down is a barrierless car park, which is only for dropping off travelling passengers. This car park is operated using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. When you arrive the cameras at the entrance at the car park will read your registration number, and you may park your car in an available space dedicated for the Premium Set Down car park. Please note you will require your vehicle registration number to pay for your stay.

Ways to pay for your stay at Premium Set Down

The charge for your stay at this car park must be paid within 24 hours of exit from the car park. The easiest way to ensure that you have done this, is to register for an AutoPay account with NCP before visiting the car park. However, we understand that this isn’t always possible, therefore we have introduced a number of ways you can pay for the charge to avoid being issued a Parking Charge Notice (PCN).

Pay at home online via Post Pay

Choose this option is you do not have an AutoPay account with NCP and have already used this car park. Payment must be made via Post Pay within 24 hours of exit from the car park.

Use this option to pay for your stay immediately before you leave the car park.

Electrical Vehicle Charging Points

GRIDSERVE electric vehicle charging points are available in the Premium Set Down Car Park, with the following connectors:

  • 3 x CCS

  • 1 x CHAdeMO

  • 1 x Type 2

Contactless payment is available and no membership is required. GRIDSERVE prices apply.

EV customers using the charging points are entitled to a reduced tariff on the car park as follows:

  • For customers who have used any Birmingham Airport official car park: free exit from Premium Set Down car park on production of valid booking confirmation

  • For users of the Premium Set Down car park only: tariff reduced to £6 for the first 90 minutes, £6 per 15 minutes thereafter.

Please visit the Customer Service cabin within the Premium Set Down car park after you have charged your vehicle with your vehicle registration number to benefit from the reduced tariff.


Twilight Check-In

Customers using the Jet2.com or TUI Twilight check-in are entitled to a reduced tariff of £5 for the first 60 minutes, £6 per 15 minutes thereafter.

Frequently Asked Questions

The twilight Check-In and day before bag drop service is only available to passengers flying with Jet2.com or TUI.

Jet2.com Twilight Check-in is available from 16:30-21:00 every day. This is available to anyone who has a flight before 12pm, you can drop your bags the night before travel in zone A.

TUI twilight bag drop is available from 14:00 - 21:00 every day. This is available to anyone who has a flight before 12pm, you can drop your bags the night before travel in zone B.

When you arrive to the airport, please see the screens in the terminal to help locate the exact desk in use.

Since the introduction of the barrierless system, there has been no change to Twilight Bag Drop parking. After you have checked in your bag(s), simply head over to the NCP customer service cabin (that’s within Premium Set Down). Present your bag drop receipt and vehicle registration number to the NCP staff inside, and they will validate your stay.

You can then pay via Post Pay, or at one of the onsite payment machines or with your pre-registered AutoPay account. More information about Post Pay and AutoPay payment methods can be found here.

When you are ready to leave, please head over to the NCP Customer Service Cabin (located within Premium Set Down) with your Blue Badge and vehicle registration number and a member of the team will be able to validate that free 30-minute parking for you. Please remember if you have surpassed 30 minutes, standard tariff charges apply to your stay.

If you are taxi driver and you have taxied a passenger to the airport, please head over to the NCP customer service cabin so they can verify your passenger’s blue badge, in order to validate your free 30 minutes. Please note, the passenger that the blue badge belongs to must be present, in order for the NCP staff to validate the free parking.

Once you have dropped your passenger off, you can leave the car park via the exit. Payment is required within 24 hours of exiting the car park, to avoid being issued a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). Payment(s) can be made at home via Post Pay, or at one of the onsite payment machines, or via a pre-registered AutoPay account. Find out more about these payment options here. If you experience any problems whilst inside the car park, please head over to one of the payment machines and press the button for assistance, and thee NCP Control Centre team will be happy to help.
