Arriving in Cologne

There's lots of quick and easy connections to from Cologne Airport to the city centre. The quickest option is the S-Bahn (suburban train) line S13 or S19, which takes around 15 minutes to reach Cologne's main train station (Köln Hauptbahnhof). Trains run frequently, usually every 10 to 20 minutes.

There are also regional trains and long-distance trains that can take you to various parts of the city and beyond.

Bus services also operate from the airport to different city areas, though these may take a bit longer. Taxis are also readily available, be sure to check with the taxi driver on the fare you'll be charged before departing.

What to expect in Cologne

You'll find an incredibly relaxing, welcoming atmosphere in Cologne. The old town (Altstadt) is filled with quaint cobbled streets, cosy cafés and colourful houses, with lots of restful spots along the river Rhine to watch the world go by. Plenty of art galleries, museums and live music events make the city popular with all ages.
