Birmingham Airport has launched a public consultation into their draft surface access strategy for 2015-2020.
The draft ‘Air to Surface Access Strategy’ (ASAS) sets out at a strategic level how the airport will improve and encourage all the different ways that passengers, staff and goods get to and from the airport over the next five years and beyond, with a particular emphasis on sustainable transport. It will replace the existing ASAS that was published in 2006.
Robert Eaton, planning manager at Birmingham Airport, said:
“Excellent connectivity for all modes of transport is essential if the airport is to continue to grow sustainably, reduce carbon output, and minimise the impact on the surrounding road network.
“We have therefore prepared our ‘Air to Surface Access Strategy’, and want to hear as many views and comments as possible. These will feed into our final version before it is produced.”
