Air-rail link

Passengers can conveniently and quickly travel to Grand Central, Birmingham (New Street station) or to London from Birmingham International station. Birmingham Airport is directly connected to Birmingham International station by a free 'Air-Rail Link' system.  Further information can be found on our Travel by Train page.

The Air-Rail Link operates between 3:30 am, and 00:30 am daily. The carriage(s) runs continuously, on-demand during these hours.Outside of these hours: A courtesy bus is in operation. Please use bus stop C from the Airport Terminal and bus stop NB at the Train Station.The Air-Rail Link arrives on the first floor of the Airport. To check-in, please use the lift or escalator to the ground floor.

The Air-Rail Link is a free service and operates between 3:30 am, and 00:30 am daily. The carriage(s) runs continuously, on-demand during these hours.

Outside of these hours: A courtesy bus is in operation. Please use bus stop C from the Airport Terminal and bus stop NB at the Train Station.

The Air-Rail Link arrives on the first floor of the Airport. To check-in, you will need use the lift or escalator to the ground floor where all check in desks are located

The Air-Rail Link leaves from the first floor of the Train Station and arrives on the first floor of the Airport. To check-in, please use the lift or escalator to the ground floor. This is a complimentary service 

The NEC is a short distance from the airport and is accessed through Birmingham International train station.

Electric cars

GRIDSERVE electric vehicle charging points are available in the Premium Set Down Car Park, with the following connectors:

3 x CCS1 x CHAdeMO1 x Type 2

Contactless payment is available and no membership is required. GRIDSERVE prices apply.

EV customers using the charging points are entitled to a reduced tariff on the car park as follows:

For customers who have used any Birmingham Airport official car park: free exit from Premium Set Down car park on production of valid booking confirmation

For users of the Premium Set Down car park only: tariff reduced to £6 for the first 90 minutes, £6 per 15 minutes thereafter. Please visit the Customer Service cabin within the Premium Set Down car park after you have charged your vehicle to benefit from the reduced tariff.

Electric car charging points are available at the Airport. The Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers (suitable for many types of EVs) are located within the Premium Set Down car park. The EV chargers are free of charge with the parking tariff discounted to £6 for the 90 minutes, thereafter normal charges apply. The parking discount can be validated at the NCP Meet and Greet cabin in the car park.
