Eating out whilst travelling can be a daunting and stressful task, especially for those on a restricted diet. Whether it’s for ethical, medical, religious or health reasons, options can often be limited. At Birmingham Airport, we aim to cater for most dietary requirements with many of our restaurants and food places offering a wide choice of options to suit all preferences, making the start of your holiday as stress-free as possible.
From snacks to sit down meals, there’s something for everyone at Birmingham Airport. Read on to discover our favourite choices for the most common dietary preferences.
Vegetarian and Vegan
Vegetarian and vegan diets are becoming increasingly popular and the choice of options at Birmingham Airport are second to none.
A range of vegetarian and vegan snacks can be bought at many of our high-street terminal stores available from both airside and landside. Whether you pick up some healthy popcorn from WHSmith, or indulge in a sweet treat from Boots, you won’t have to go far to find something to tickle your taste buds.
Boots can be found before security in the arrivals area and after security in the departure lounge. There are 8 WHSmith locations throughout the airport, before and after security, so you’re never far from one!
If you’re grabbing a quick bite, head to Pret for delicious freshly made veggie options and a selection of exciting new recipes to try. If you’ve been on the road for a while, for an instant boost the coconut latte is not to be missed. We love their coconut yoghurt pots too!
Pret is located after security within the departure lounge.
When it comes to vegetarian and even vegan options, Giraffe can’t be beaten for variety. Vegetarian dishes are clearly marked on the menu; choices include a stacked Halloumi and Falafel Burger, or a fragrant Kati Roll filled with spiced cauliflower, chickpeas and pomegranate seeds. If you’re stopping by for breakfast, we recommend the Huevos Rancheros with field mushrooms, for a decadent start to your day. There is also the option to switch traditional tortilla for a corn tortilla if you’re avoiding gluten.
Find Giraffe after security in the departure lounge.
Gluten-Free
More and more people are understanding the benefits of eating gluten-free, but it can still be challenging to find foods when you’re dining out. Whether this is a lifestyle choice or dietary requirement luckily, there is plenty of choice at Birmingham Airport.
If you need to pick something up quickly, M&S has a full selection of gluten-free snacks and tasty treats, ranging from biscuits to bread. They also offer sandwiches and other lunch options if you’re looking for something more substantial.
M&S Simply Food is located in the arrivals greeting area and is open 24 hours.
Healthy Eating
Even those who are watching their calorie intake find travelling tiring. Keep up your energy with a selection of healthy snacks and meals – high in protein and vegetables, and low in carbs and sugar. There are plenty of healthy options available throughout Birmingham Airport!
For breakfast, lunch or dinner head to All Bar One where you’ll find a range of delicious and nutritious options available whatever time of day you arrive.
