The airport is located approximately 16 miles from Kos Town, making it accessible for travellers heading to various parts of the island. It is a relatively small airport and operates out of one terminal. There are various onward transport options from Kos International Airport.

Taxis are readily available from outside the terminal building and provide quick transfers to Kos Town and popular beach resorts. They are typically reasonably priced. For public transport, there is a bus service that connects the airport to Kos Town which runs frequently during tourist season. The local KTEL bus service offers routes to various destinations around the island, making it a cost-effective option for travellers.

If you want to explore the island at your own pace, there are several rental car companies that operate at the airport. There are also rideshare options like Uber and private transfers are available which could be convenient for families or groups.
