He said: "We are super excited to bring our varied food offering and enhanced choice to travellers at Birmingham Airport.

"Chaiiwala is a different food concept to what is currently on offer at airports and travel hubs in the UK and we are really looking forward to welcoming passengers to the store.

"Our goal is to enhance the experience of our customers who are travelling by providing exceptional dining options and the addition of Chaiiwala to Birmingham Airport is a key part of that vision."

The Chaiiwala concession has been developed as a bespoke standalone kiosk at an investment of £500,000 and will be the company's 115th store across the world. The 1,100 sq ft store will be located in the departures area at Birmingham airport and will create 20 jobs

Customers will be able to use the low-level seating and serving areas across the departures lounge at Birmingham Airport while having clear visibility across the departures area to flight information boards and boarding gates. Chaiiwala will also operate a click and collect service via its app.

The new airport store will be operated by long-term partner EG On The Move who currently run a number of Chaiiwala stores in the UK.

"Opening Chaiiwala at Birmingham Airport is a fantastic step forward in our strategy to give customers on move access to popular, high-quality foodservice brands." said Junaid Manjra, Director of Retail & Foodservice at EG On The Move.

"Building on our successful roadside Chaiiwala concession network, this launch extends our strategic vision to offer transient roadside customers and travellers at travel hubs like airports and train stations, fresh and exciting foodservice choices, combining convenience with a quality food and drink experience."

The new store will feature the full Chaiiwala menu, known for its tasty and authentic dishes, along with additional treats, snacks and all-day options. It will operate approximately 17 hours a day between 3.00am and 10pm, catering to early-morning flyers and late-night travellers alike.

Richard Gill, Commercial Director at BHX said: “It is great to see the new Chaiiwala and EG On The Move catering outlet open at Birmingham Airport. After months of planning, and build, customers travelling out will be treated to Chaiiwala’s fresh concept bringing the flavours of Indian street food directly to the departure lounge in a convenient, accessible way.”

"Their menu, which has vegetarian options and is halal-certified offers convenience for customers on the go.”
