Wizz Air today announces a brand-new route from Birmingham to Suceava in Romania.
The new route will launch on 15th December 2025, with fares starting from just £17.99**. The flights will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, providing passengers with travel options for a mid-week break or a long weekend.
Wizz Air’s presence at Birmingham Airport continues to grow, with routes to Romania a firm favourite with travellers. The new route to Suceva comes shortly after the airline announced it would fly direct to Sibu starting from September.
Suceava, situated in the historical region of Bukovina in northeastern Romania, serves as a gateway to some of the country’s most stunning UNESCO-listed painted monasteries, offering rich cultural heritage and scenic landscapes.
Wizz Air is reopening its base in Ștefan cel Mare International Airport, and will be operating many new routes from across Europe, making it even easier for travellers to discover this captivating region and surrounding Eastern European cities. The route will also help Romanian communities in the UK stay connected with friends and family.
The launch of the Birmingham–Suceava route forms part of Wizz Air’s wider strategy to offer more affordable and accessible travel while investing in its sustainable growth. The airline continues to modernise its fleet and improve the customer experience through its £12 billion Customer First Compass transformation plan.
All flights will be operated using the latest-generation Airbus A321neo aircraft, the most efficient and sustainable aircraft available. Tickets to Suceava are now available to book atwizzair.com and via Wizz Air’s official mobile app.
Olivia Harangozó, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “We are delighted to be adding Suceava to our route network from Birmingham. The city and surrounding region offer incredible natural beauty and historical significance, making it an ideal destination for travellers hoping to discover somewhere off the beaten track. With flights launching in December, we hope that travellers are as excited as us to explore the Christmas markets and Romanian culture through this convenient and affordable connection.”
Tom Screen, Aviation Director at Birmingham Airport, said: “It’s great news that Wizz Air has decided to increase its presence at Birmingham Airport with the launch of a new route to Sucaeva. This is a brand new addition on our departures board and accompanies Wizz Air's current direct routes from Birmingham to Rome, Bucharest, Craiova, Budapest and Sibiu."
