Drop off and Premium Set Down

Blue Badge holders (or their driver) are entitled to up to 30 minutes free parking within the Premium Set Down car park.  More information regarding car park for disabled passengers can be found on our Assisted Travel page.

Blue badge parking bays can also be found in our Drop Off car park, however they are still advised to use the Premium Set Down car park as above.

Details of the Premium Set Down car park can be found on our Drop off & Pick up page.

All airports were instructed to close their inner set down road for security reasons in 2007 and therefore because of restricted capacity in our Premium Set Down car park a drop off fee was introduced.

Signage on approach to the Premium Set Down and Drop Off car parks clearly advise the charges in place and directions to alternative car parks.

Drivers who are picking up passengers are advised to use Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 where the tariffs are considerably cheaper. Further details can be found on our Turn up parking prices page.

Using the barrierless car parks

Since the introduction of the barrierless system, there has been no change to Twilight Bag Drop parking. After you have checked in your bag(s), simply head over to the NCP customer service cabin (that’s within Premium Set Down). Present your bag drop receipt and vehicle registration number to the NCP staff inside, and they will validate your stay.

You can then pay via Post Pay, or at one of the onsite payment machines or with your pre-registered AutoPay account. More information about Post Pay and AutoPay payment methods can be found here.

When you are ready to leave, please head over to the NCP Customer Service Cabin (located within Premium Set Down) with your Blue Badge and vehicle registration number and a member of the team will be able to validate that free 30-minute parking for you. Please remember if you have surpassed 30 minutes, standard tariff charges apply to your stay.

If you are taxi driver and you have taxied a passenger to the airport, please head over to the NCP customer service cabin so they can verify your passenger’s blue badge, in order to validate your free 30 minutes. Please note, the passenger that the blue badge belongs to must be present, in order for the NCP staff to validate the free parking.

If the ANPR system fails to recognise your number plate, you can still register your parking via Post Pay.

On the page, please search for your vehicle registration and then select the “Register Parking” button. Here you will be able to register your vehicle and enter the approximate time you entered and the approximate time you left the car park and pay for your stay.

You can request a receipt from our parking partners, who operate the Birmingham Airport official car parks – NCP. This can be done on their website here.

You should have received an email confirming your stay at Premium Set Down or the Drop Off car park, please check your email inbox (including our junk folder) for this email. If you haven’t received an email, please contact NCP on [email protected] with your contact details or call them on 0345 050 7080 to find out more information about your stay.

AutoPay must be set up before entering the car park to work. Since you registered after entering, you'll need to pay for this stay via Post Pay. Future visits to our Premium Set Down or Drop Off car parks will be charged automatically via your AutoPay account.

To avoid being issued a Parking Charge Notice, please ensure you have paid for your stay within 24 hours of exiting the car park.

The simplest way to ensure timely payment, is by pre-registering for an AutoPay account, please note - AutoPay must be set up before you enter the car park. Find out more about the AutoPay.

You have 24 hours from exit to pay for your recent stay, you can do so via Post Pay. If you have an AutoPay account set up, prior to entering the car park, you will be automatically billed. Alternatively, you can pay for your stay at one of the onsite payment machines.

The Birmingham Airport official car parks are managed by NCP, please contact NCP on [email protected] with your contact details or call them on 0345 050 7080 to find out more information about your stay.

Once you have set up an AutoPay, you will not need to sign up again.
